REFLECTIONS ON A BOAT MUSEUM: MUSEUM PROJECT IN BALANCE OF WATERS

The idea of ??exposing the visual arts area, and promote art workshops, making interact professionals with people eager to artistic expression in a traveling boat, may be related to the idea, very old, the journey through deep water, like we did Ulysses in the Odyssey of Homer, or, more recently, as you see in the "Tale of the Unknown Island" by José Saramago. While these texts do not speak exactly that - the use of an artistic experience on a boat or ship - which is common to the proposal to develop painting activities, printmaking, drawing and photography (teaching, fun, leading to participation) and literary works rather indicated there is the possibility for the trip, can also promote reflection on art in the world, which is effective to, and not a single breath of inspiration, as it has long been thought. The museum project in the Water Balance, under the organization and direction of the museum Karandash collection, through their representatives, artists Dalton Costa and Maria Amélia Vieira, keep this line with the adventure, pleasure and the pursuit of knowledge of the new ( theme of both the Odyssey as the contemporary short story by Saramago, both dialoguing with the construction of the human essentiality, the do-while seeking and searching a concept of art.
The advantage of such an experience, unconventional, good to dwell on it - to escape the room and the studio, the closed doors and seclusion, voluntarily although in a separate and private space, almost sacralized, the fact that it is still thought even today - is to pass a concept increasingly current, interaction and demystify this type of activity. It is able to find, in all kinds of people, communities which in principle had no access to the museum, senses and expectations that in the end can be availed artistically. It is art that is practiced indifferently - without prejudice or class elitismos - on the street, on stage, in the square, along the river (in this case, the São Francisco River, it is not for nothing that has been baptized River of National Unity) Finally, in the most unexpected corners of a rural Brazil, set aside the big cities. By calling attention to the phenomenon itself, by take it out of consecrated places and involve as many people, for others setting the vision that art brings, the project can realize what the critic Antonio Candido called, in an essay his , right". Right to art, the ability to enter a fabled world, is the joke, the joke, the popular song, to reach the most complex forms of fictional and artistic elaboration. He went on to say critical, rightly I think, that art is a fact of social balance, therefore essential to man, as are indispensable housing or food. This is also, therefore, a right to which man has, besides the right to access to incompressible goods, such as home, food, clothing, medical care and school. But that presence is precisely its opposite: given a contemporary prerogative, the art, such as the design of the artists Maria Amélia Vieira and Dalton Costa, in several editions, with the participation of artists and institutions such as: Rubem Grilo, Adriana Maciel , Juarez Cavalcanti, Zezão, Pedro Octavio Brandão, Anima Mundi and Celso Brandão, provides, is made with raw materials, with people not educated in this field of endeavor and soon also to receive this education with recontextualization of materials and finally with erasing the boundary line between the popular and the learned, through obvious mixtures of styles and artistic attitudes. Given these fundamental features, tested and proven performed, convenho the project is to extend and continue the art education work and continuous review of its foundations and objectives.
